Mr. Sidhartha Barua FCA, M.Com. qualified as Chartered Accountants from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh in the year 1995 and became a Fellow Member in the year 2000. He obtained Masters in Accounting from Chittagong University of Bangladesh in the year 1983. He worked with Meghna Petroleum Ltd. – [A Government owned Oil Marketing Company (Erstwhile ESSO Eastern Inc.) under a franchise with British Petroleum Middle East for Lubricating Oil only] from 1987 to 2001 in different status & capacities as senior management.

Mr. Barua joined as senior Partner in “M M Rahman & Co.” Chartered Accountants, and in charge of Chittagong Branch from 01^st September 2022, before that he started his practice as Chartered Accountants in the year 2001 as partner under the name & style “M.A,Mallik & Co.” which was subsequently turns to a proprietorship firm and continued over there with the same name & style before merger of the earlier firm.

He is one of the elected council member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for the period of 2019 to 2021 and 2022-2024. Mr. Barua is the Vice President (Technical and Regulatory Affairs) of ICAB for the year 2021 & 2022 and he was also Vice President (Education and Examination) in 2020. He is the Chairman of Technical & Research Committee, also rendering services to the ICAB as member of different standing and non-standing committees. He was the Chairman ICAB-CRC in the year 2004 and the Executive Member of ICAB-CRC during 2004-2006.

Mr. Barua has a lot of experience in Auditing, Taxation, Company’s’ secretarial affairs and Consultancy in the field of Ferro alloy product manufacturing industries, Cement Manufacturing industries, shipping business, Ship breaking business, Industrial undertakings engaged in various production, Service sector – Hospital, Diagnostic & IT and some conglomerate group of companies both local & Joint venture.

He is widely traveled person for personal tips, official, professional purposes to Singapore, Malaysia, United Kingdom, United States of America, Italy, Switzerland, Paris, Germany, Portugal, Turkey, Thailand, United Arab Emirate, China, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Myanmar & Nepal.

Mr. Barua is a Board Member of Chattogram WASA and Independent Director of Bangladesh Cable Silpa Limited.

He is President and Trustee- Bangladesh Buddhist Foundation & Trustee Prantic Welfare Trust, permanent Member of Chittagong Club Limited, permanent Member of Chittagong Boat Club Limited, Life Member of Diabetic Association of Bangladesh and associated with many other social organizations.
