Md. Rafiqul Islam Khan graduated from Dhaka University in the year 1970, and became Chartered Accountant from ICAB in the year 1978. He joined as chief officer (Finance & Accounts) of TCB for 6 years upto January 1985, General Manager (Finance & Accounts) of Desh Group for about 5 years up to September 1989. His 27 years professional experience includes Audit, Taxation, Project Consultancy, Investment Consultancy and Foreign Investment Promotion Service.

His Association with organization are namely : Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and industries (DCCI): Former Director and at present Converter Finance Committee and Member of two other committees, Institute Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB): Past Council member and at present Member of three committees, Diabetics Association of Bangladesh (BADAS): National Council (N.C) Member, BIRDEM, Member, Board of Management (BOM).
He has Attended Seminar and conferences in home & abroad. His notable attended foreign conference are : SAFA International seminar as delegate member from ICAB to Madras (India), UNESCAP seminar in Sri Lanka as DCCI representative, Attended as Head of delegation to international conference of the Union of Cancer Control (UICC) in Geneva, Switzerland.
He is a widely travelled person. He has visited Countries on business, professional and personal trips to Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Nepal, India Sri Lanka, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, UK, Switzerland, Italy, France, USA and Canada.
